Robert Port was invited to be part of a panel discussion at the Financial Planning Association of Georgia’s Regional Symposium, held May 20 and 21 in Atlanta.
The panel discussed “Pitfalls in Financial Planning – Why Advisors get Sued.” The topic areas included understanding the reasons why advisors can get sued by clients; identifying and quantifying litigation risk; and principles of litigation risk management in a fiduciary capacity.
Chris Casdia, CCO at Homrich Berg, moderated the discussion. In addition to Robert, other panel members included Defense Attorney Jo Meeks of James Bates Brannan Groover, LLC and Travis Pearson, Director of Markel Cambridge Alliance, which provides errors and omissions insurance to several classes of investment advisors.
